Beam and Field Angles

Beam and Field Angles

The Beam and Field Angles determine how a spot light lights the surrounding area.

For most uses, the field angle should be 180 degrees, because that creates a softer transition at the edge of the beam angle.

We have changed the default field angle to 180. (It used to be 1 1/2 x the beam angle). This should give better results. If you want a tighter angle, then overrider it.

Beam 15 degrees, Field 180 degrees (default)
Beam 30 degrees, Field 180 degrees (default)
Beam 60 degrees, Field 180 degrees (default)
Beam 60 degrees, Field 75 degrees
